Ferrari's Special Projects division has a new member under the name of Ferrari P80 / C. However, it is not just another car, it is not another unique design quirk, but this time we are facing a one-off designed by and for the circuits. It is then about the most extreme car ever developed by Ferrari in one-off format, a racing car inspired by the Ferrari 488 GT3 that aims to become the most exclusive racing car in the world.

Based on the Ferrari 488 that competes in GT3, it uses the same chassis and powertrain, a wealthy customer of the Maranello brand contacted the Special Projects division to create his bespoke racing car. It was a very ambitious project, quite a challenge, since it had to meet the demands of a circuit car, but at the same time it had to be able to offer a unique and unrepeatable aesthetics like the one brands with his latest works: Ferrari SP38, Ferrari F12 TRS, etc.

In this way, Ferrari's work has focused on using the technical base of the Ferrari 488 GT3, sporting a 3.9 V8 Twin-Turbo engine, although without revealing the final power of the set despite confirming the elimination of the restrictions inherent to this category. Recall that this mechanic is capable of delivering up to 720 hp, but for competition these engines work at 550 hp. Inside you resort to a cockpit inherited from the racing saddle, finding two bucket seats and a spartan cockpit configuration designed for use on the track with a digital display, multifunction console or removable steering wheel. There is no room for luxuries or infotainment, here only matters to drive.

Design work for its bodywork combines the demands of cooling and aerodynamics with other more personal details. In this way, its huge rear wing is a must for use on the track, however it is completely removable so that it can be worn without this accessory in exhibitions and elegance competitions.

We also find an aggressive front where the S-Duct system is the absolute protagonist, being guarded by prominent air intakes, as well as very marked wheel arches crowned with air outlets. The side air intakes have also been redesigned in order to offer greater cooling capacity for the intercoolers, finishing the process with the installation of a huge rear diffuser inherited from the GT3 specification, although optimized for the occasion.
